The economic platform of ICON-Mexico is sustained by three sub-projects that aim to different specific objectives and have different project management requirements but that feed each other and are strategically aligned with the general vision and mission of ICON.

These 3 projects are:

  • The Sustainable Village, the residential development of ICON. It is a state of the art environmental co-housing development of about 50 houses in fractional ownership. The Village offers the infrastructure and the processes to satisfy the needs of its residents, such as low ecological footprint, balanced private-communitarian life style, security, closeness to nature and to Mexico City. Some services are dinning area and gathering space, common kitchen, children's play area, guest rooms, business center and a child care.


  • The Global Collective Intelligence Retreat Center, the laboratory for social transformation. The Lab has two main parts: a physical social laboratory and the cyberspace. This infrastructure is in the service and support of all ICON players: local, regional and global. It offers direct access to integral tools like PETRA, collective intelligence training and facilitation, integral life practices (physical, emotional, mind, soul), technological resources and communities of practice.


  • TheSustainable Business Incubator, a conducive space to grow sustainable business that feed and are fed by ICON, such as the Village Common House, Waldorf School, Appropriate Technology Demonstration Center, organic farm, air strip and more.
